New national plan to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation

The National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation has released its new and updated National Plan to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. The National Plan provides practical steps that individuals, organizations, businesses and policymakers can implement to promote positive youth development and prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation.

PreventConnect has been glad to be part of this coalition for many years.  By focusing on prevention of child sexual abuse and exploitation, the Coalition has brought together many important partners committed to creating change.

  1. There is a gaping hole in regards to keeping sex offenders out of kids’ sports. The Ted Stevens Amateur Sports Act has a clause in it that National Governing Bodies of sports, in particular USA Gymnastics, believe forces them to allow convicted sex offenders to send child athletes to their sanctioned events. Please sign this petition to amend the Ted Stevens Act to close the loophole:
