Prevention AssessmentThe National Sexual Violence Resource Center has just released the final report from their three year National Prevention Strengths and Needs Assessment.  The report, Year 3 Report and Synthesis: National Strengths and Needs Assessmentprovides a summary of the work completed during the third year of the assessment as well as a synthesis of major themes across the three year project.  Topics covered include:

  • Defining Prevention
  • Prevention Strategies
  • Prevention Principles
  • Linking to Other Issues
  • Resources
  • Evaluation

The report follows two previous reports: NSVRC Prevention Assessment: Year 1 Report National Strengths and Needs Assessment (NSVRC, 2010) & NSVRC Prevention Assessment: Year 2 Report Innovations in Prevention (NSVRC, 2012). PreventConnect offered podcasts with all of the programs featured in the year 2 report.  Click here and here to access the podcasts.

Comparing findings of the Year 3 assessment to those of the Year 1 survey, the report  provides an interesting look at how our movement and our work can change in just a few short years.  It also provides valuable insight about the state of prevention work and how we can advance our efforts to prevent sexual violence.  Click here to download the report.
