Community Mobilization Strategies: Making Community Level Change!

Rebecca Milliman of Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress discusses specific strategies and skills to assist local communities in mobilizing and taking action to prevent sexual assault. Learn how to approach and engage a community in a large-scale prevention effort, then how to involve stakeholders to create a comprehensive primary prevention plan. Using a successful school-based community mobilization project as a case example, Rebecca shares key engagement strategies, evaluation tools, lessons learned, and fun deliverables created by youth.

This workshop was part of the Prevention Track at the 2015 National Sexual Assault Conference that held September 2 – 4 in Los Angeles, CA. View the conference materials including workshop handouts and slides here. The Prevention track was sponsored by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center
