April is a Month For Prevention

Today marks the start of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention MonthMeet Us on the Street Anti-Street Harassment Week 2016And there are other opportunities to think about preventing violence this month with International Anti-Street Harassment Week (April 10-16), National Youth Violence Prevention Week (April 4-8), and National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (April 10-16).

This is the time to recognize the linkages between all types of violence and focus on prevention. “Prevention is Possible” is not only the theme for Sexual Assault Awareness Month but a message that carries across all forms of violence. APril is Child Abuse Prevntion Month with three blue pinwheelsWhether your focus is sexual violence, youth violence, street harassment, or child abuse, our work to prevent violence will build healthier communities.
