What About Power and Patriarchy? Examining Social Cohesion Strategies to Prevent Sexual and Domestic Violence

WEDNESDAY, JULY 13, 2016

Sexual and domestic violence prevention practitioners are hearing more and more about social cohesion and social inclusion strategies which aim to increase mutual trust in a community or neighborhood and improve the process and terms for individuals and groups to take part in society.  Join us for a conversation where we will explore recent research on social cohesion, social inclusion, and sexual and domestic violence, and how a feminist power analysis can coexist with and strengthen social cohesion and social inclusion strategies to prevent sexual and domestic violence.  We will learn about examples from the field and share considerations, tools, and resources that can be used to guide efforts.
