#PowerInPrevention Ending Child Sexual Abuse: Updates on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention with Elementary School Ages

 

A lot has been learned about child sexual abuse prevention education and programs since they began in the mid 1970s. This web conference mines the wisdom of lessons learned that led to key changes in two national model programs including the relevance of social emotional learning and system wide prevention and response systems for children and teens with disabilities.

  • How research has driven the evolution of Committee for Children’s programs to protect children and prevent child sexual abuse
  • How social emotional learning has emerged as an essential foundation of primary prevention
  • How preventionists can collaborate with school systems to implement organization-wide approaches to sexual abuse prevention and keep prevention plans on track in the midst of all the other demands on teachers’ and administrators’ time
  • How efforts to prevent sexual abuse in schools and youth serving organizations can be inclusive of children with disabilities
