WeGovern in practice: Narrating a future for our communities

When WeGovern, we build what we will become by telling stories about our shared future. In this session, we will narrate a vision of our communities so that we may create it together. Creating a liberatory future urges us to operate together differently–and it will take all of us to bring it into being. By drawing upon ancestral wisdom and embodied ways of knowing through storytelling, we can see, feel, and plan for a future beyond violence in concrete ways.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe how a commitment to the WeGovern agreements can transform the stories we create about our shared future
  • Identify where you are already in practice with operating together differently to envision and create communities where all beings can thrive
  • Discuss opportunities to see, feel, and plan for a future beyond violence in concrete ways by drawing on ancestral wisdom and embodied ways of knowing
