Hollaback! Against Campus Harassment

This is a guest blog from CALCASA’s Sari Lorge.

The Hollaback! movement is a campaign that is dedicated to ending street harassment using mobile technology. Over the next year, the movement will spearhead its mission on ten college campuses in an effort to eliminate campus harassment.

Hollaback! has launched this campus initiative in order to provide a “safe, action-oriented response to campus harassment” by using free Hollaback! apps and campus-specific Hollaback! website hubs. Through these means, students can submit experiences of harassment. The campus-specific website will link directly to a mapping system where Hollaback! representatives can track campus harassment and communicate this data to campus staff and administrators.
