Integrating prevention into organizations that address intimate partner violence

RWJF DELTA PREP report coverThe Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has released a new report titled Integrating Prevention Strategies Into Organizations That Address Intimate Partner Violence that shares the results of the DELTA PREP initiative that supported 19 domestic violence coalitions to develop prevention capacity.  This report highlights how these organizations integrated prevention strategies. As one grantee stated

Our program has been taking care of victims of domestic violence for the past 20 years. We’ve always been reactive… We’ve never really made an effort to end it. Prevention is that effort to end it. It’s time to be proactive.

The report also describes examples of prevention efforts, including engaging men, engaging youth, Reaching out to African American and Latino Communities, and using social marketing.

The DELTA PREP project was implemented from 2007 to 2012 with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and
