Identifying Solutions to School-Based Prevention Programming Resistance – Call for Speakers!

PreventConnect will host a Town Hall event, Identifying Solutions to School-Based Prevention Programming Resistance, in August and we want to hear from you!

Sexual and domestic violence prevention practitioners across the country are experiencing pushback on efforts to implement K-12 school-based programming. PreventConnect wants to hear how practitioners and technical assistance providers are finding solutions and moving prevention forward while staying true to health equity and anti-oppression frameworks.

We are looking for presenters to share:

  • How you stay rooted to anti-oppression based prevention when dealing with resistance
  • How you hold onto health-equity frameworks, like racial justice and LGBTQIA+ inclusion, when facing backlash?
  • How you communicate with the public and dispel myths and misconceptions about prevention?
  • How you form and maintain strategic partnerships to overcome school-based barriers?

If you are interested in presenting on this Town Hall scheduled for August 16, 2023, please fill out this brief survey by Friday, July 14, 2023. PreventConnect will select up to 5 presenters. Additional survey respondents may be contacted to present on future PreventConnect web conferences.
