Links between HIV/AIDS and gender based violence

Research on many issues show risk factors common to many different issue.  Even more importantly, many have common protective factors. We will explore this theme in the upcoming PreventConnect web conference titled A Good Solution Solves Multiple Problems.

Here is a great example of recent action being taken to address the links between different topics Last week, President Obama issues a memorandum establishing a Working Group on the Intersection of HIV/AIDS, Violence Against Women and Girls, and Gender-related Health Disparities. This is an important opportunity to find common solutions to many related problems.  You can learn more about this during the White House’s  Open Office on this topic on April 4 at 11am Pacific (2pm Eastern) Time where Lynn Rosenthal, the White House Advisor on Violence Against Women and Dr. Grant Colfax, the Director of the Office of National AIDS Policy, will respond to your questions in real-time via Twitter.
