New, Seasoned, or Needing a Refresher: Key Concepts, Models, and Frameworks Within the Field of Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention

While it’s impossible to go over everything a new preventionist would need to know in a 90-minute web conference, it is feasible to provide an overview of starting points and key frameworks that shape sexual and domestic violence prevention. New preventionists, prevention supervisors, and all prevention practitioners benefit from knowing foundational resources for understanding sexual and domestic violence prevention. Join PreventConnect and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center on this web conference to explore resources, concepts, tools, and other necessary prevention components that all preventionists–new and seasoned–should know to succeed in preventing sexual and domestic violence.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe concepts, models, and frameworks that shape the current field of sexual and domestic violence prevention
  • Identify resources for new prevention staff members to engage with in their first few months on the job
  • Engage in a discussion on resources, support, and other knowledge sharing that would help new preventionists transition into their roles

MATERIALS:

  • Web Conference slides [PDF]
  • Text Chat transcript [PDF]
