Women of Color Network’s 2012 Call to Action Institute and Conference

Tonya Lovelace of the Women of Color Network, Clara Lindstrom of La Mariposa Enterprises, Alison Smith of the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Pheng Thao of A CALL TO MEN describe the upcoming National Call to Action Institute and Conference to be held July 9-13, 2012, in St. Paul, Minn. This institute and conference will bring together hundreds of women of color, white women, aspired allies and men of all races to build “Collective Empowerment and Collective Liberation.”

  1. THE WORK YOU ARE DOING FOR ALL PEOPLE OF THE GLOBE IS MAGNIFICENT!!!!!! THERE IS NOT ONE FAMILY ON THIS ENTIRE EARTH THAT HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED SOME TYPE OF ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR!!! WHETHER WE ARE WILLING TO ADMIT IT OR NOT!!!!!! I SUBMIT TO YOU THE WOMEN OF COLOR NETWORK SHOULD BE A CABINET IN OUR GOV. RIGHT BESIDE THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH!! I COMMEND YOU TONYA AND THE NETWORK OF THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

  2. Talking about violence and abuse takes a lot of strength and courage. I am glad you’ve taken this big step to educate and inform others of domestic violence and abuse.
